A Good Day
This picture was taken right after Nolan’s first partridge retrieve of the year. He has been really geared up since the live birds arrived in the mail.The falcon missed the bird Tom released for her the first time, but Nolan retrieved it alive. This is his big goofy smile.

We have had a record breaking heat wave of of above 60 degree heat and clear skies. With 15 hours of day light there is plenty of time to snap a photo of the multicolored roofs in Bethel while enjoy the evening.

She’s up and in the air. Evenings are now spent out in the tundra hacking this not so wild one.
Bird Chases Dog
Nolan’s tail has become a hot chase ticket. Nolan has enjoyed hacking nights and he often initiates a good chase himself. She is starting to get more serious about the birds he flushes from the willows. Patridge and pigeons are in order for phase 2 of training.
At Hack
August evenings are now spent on the tundra letting Fiona test her flying skills. Tom has built special perches for the truck for her. A few lawn chairs, some bug dope and a berry bucket and we are set for the evening.
Annual Hack A Whack Golf Tournament Today
It’s that time of year again. The annual golfing event is for the “occasional” and avid golfers alike. A fun day putting around the dusty silt we call sand with friends. Rumor has this secret unofficial course has been updated?
Ashland Farmer’s Market
Britton, Sean, Quinn and Oona are in there second year of running a booth at the Ashland Farmers market. Their Deep Roots Farm is producing fresh greens and herbs. Britton also makes the best breakfast burritos with hand pressed tortillas. It’s worth and early rise on a Saturday.
Quinn is also a regular volunteer for the marimba group that plays at the market.
