It was an unusually clear night for viewing the lunar eclipse in Bethel. This is my first attempt at night time photography. The wind was jiggling my flimsy tripod and my fingers were so cold I went inside to warm up three times. But it was well worth the view. There are few more pictures on my flickr site too.

Windy Walk
Warmer weather often brings wind. But it did not stop us from venturing down our favorite trail. Tom tried out his new survival gear and Nolan had a blast. We are going a little stir crazy with the short days. The solstice marks a welcome lengthening of days.
Wisconsin Deer Season
3,000 plus miles can’t stop the tradition of hunting the white tailed deer.
Yum, Chicken Bones!
The ultimate village decomposer. The Ravens in Bethel have their own dumpster territories. They are very skilled at seeking out the best parts of our trash. But caution, do not leave any grocery bags or garbage bags in the open bed of your truck. They are fair game too.
Short Winter Days
This is my view of Bethel as I step out of work each afternoon. The sun comes up at about 10 and goes down at about 5. We have a lot of great sunset time.
