Tom Earns His USFWS Wings
Tom has officially been designated a dual duty Federal USFWS pilot/biologist. He earned his “blue” card this winter after a lengthy process of training which included spin stall sessions and hours of mentorship with seasoned pilots.
This spring he flew the Cessna 206 on resupply drops to field camps. He is now honing his float plane skills.
He also stayed busy this winter flying for the Civil Air Patrol(CAP). He found a lost snow machiner in the tundra who was severely frostbit and hypothermic. CAP has been a great way for him to earn extra hours of experience and see parts of the region that can truly be appreciated from the air.
